Green Agrotourism

The programme supports investment projects in the tourism sector which link the primary and secondary sectors with the tertiary sector, creating a new tourism product.

The aim is to increase the competitiveness and awareness of the products on the markets by placing them at tourist attraction points and developing experiential agri-tourism activities.

Each investment project must demonstrate the above objective and, in addition, at least one of the following objectives

a) Improving the position of farmers in the value chain.

b) The integration of innovation processes and the use of new technologies and environmentally friendly processes that reduce climate change.

c) Sustainable local development and more efficient management of natural resources.

(d) Increasing the degree of cooperation in the primary sector and the adoption of contract farming.

Beneficiaries:

All legal entities, whether they are SMEs or large enterprises, may be considered eligible, subject to the specific conditions set out in the specific article of the GAC applicable in each case, provided that they meet the following conditions:

a) they offer food and agri-food products to visitors, either on the premises or at the place where the enterprise provides its services of experiential tourism.

(b) The A-gates come from:

(Aa) where the food is supplied by the food service provider or the food service provider's own facilities from contract farming at a rate of at least 60 % per year, or

(Bb) vertical integration of the production process at a rate of at least 60 % per year

The above obligation starts from the date of completion of the investment and lasts for at least 3 years.

Persons operating in the form of a civil law company, legal forms of consortium with the exception of Social Cooperative Enterprises may not be considered eligible.

Eligible expenditure (in summary)

Investment in tangible and intangible assets is eligible, subject in each case to the conditions laid down in the relevant article of the GAC.

Α. Regional aid expenditure (GER Article 14 of Section 1) as applicable:

a) Construction or modernisation of immovable property.

b) improvement of the environment to meet the needs of the establishment.

c) Vehicles (including electric bicycles, etc.) with which the undertaking carries out transport operations as part of its activities. Eligible vehicles are electric vehicles, zero CO2 emission vehicles and vehicles emitting less than 50g/Km of CO2

d) purchase, transport and installation of equipment used in the operation of the establishment.

e) Expenditure on computerisation equipment for the undertaking. Computerisation equipment includes expenditure on remote and intelligent management through the installation of telecontrol systems and any other investment leading to the digital upgrading of businesses. Eligible equipment is equipment that operates in an environmentally friendly manner and is accompanied by the relevant certifications if available on the market.

f) expenditure to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities.

g) Intangible costs such as software acquisition and acquisition of patents, intellectual property rights licences, trademarks (including investments in digital upgrading of businesses) / Technical specifications and product design / Market research / Corporate identity & branding (logos, corporate presentations, etc.) / Design of promotional activities and materials for companies and products. In addition, obtaining quality assurance certificates from relevant organisations (such as ISO, HACCP, BRC GlobalStandards, IFS FoodStandard, GLOBALG.A.P., etc.) are also eligible

Β. Expenditure other than regional aid

a) Aid for consultancy services to SMEs

(Aa) Eligible costs consist of the cost of consultancy services provided by external consultants.

(Bb) Such services must not constitute a continuous or periodic activity nor relate to the enterprise's usual operating expenditure, such as routine tax and legal advice or advertising services

b) Aid for SME participation in trade fairs

The costs of participation in any trade fair (rental, installation and management of a stand) are eligible.

c) Investment aid for the promotion of energy production from renewable sources

(Aa) equipment for the production of energy from renewable sources is not eligible for aid as a single action but as part of the overall productive investment.

(Bb) Investments in renewable energy sources, including solar energy, shall be based on a relevant energy demand study and an analysis of the percentage of coverage of the operating needs of the beneficiary's enterprise.

(Cc) The supported investments shall be used for the production of sustainable biofuels that are not based on edible plants.

(Dd) Eligible expenditure on renewable energy sources shall be the additional investment expenditure necessary to promote the production of energy from renewable sources

e) aid shall be granted only for new renewable energy installations. No aid shall be granted or paid after the installation has been put into operation and the aid shall be independent of production.

The limits of the requested budget of each funding application are as follows:

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises: EUR 500 000,00 (minimum eligible budget requested); EUR 7 500 000,00 (maximum eligible budget requested)
Large enterprises: EUR 500.000,00 (minimum eligible budget requested) - EUR 12.500.000,00 (maximum eligible budget requested)
Total budget: €49.006.000,00
Budget of the Fund: €49.006.000,00
